Marko Simcic, Principal, Architect AIBC
Marko has 30 years of experience working very closely with clients and user groups, where careful listening and attention to detail have resulted in highly successful projects. He works to ensure the rigorous follow-through of a very high level of design on every project throughout all phases—ensuring that the details of client and user requirements, site response, and context integration are all carefully attended to all the way through to completion. His past work includes park pavilions, churches, and residences, as well as public art projects. Having a parallel art education and practice has strengthened the relationship between his work and the realization of ideas, as well as a direct engagement with materials and the processes of making. Marko’s work was recognized with a Lieutenant-Governor of BC Award in Architecture in 2008. Marko is a founding board member and now producer of the collective Other Sights for Artist Projects, a non-profit dedicated to supporting the creation of artworks in the public realm.
